International Nurses day celebrated on 12″ May every year on the birthday of
Florence Nightingale. This week highlights the way Nurses influence and innovate to
improve health care system.
Inauguration of Nurses week celebration was held in Govt. Medical College &
Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh by College of Nursing in collaboration with
Department of Nursing on 7″h May’2025. The event was graced by honourable Prof.
A.K.Attri, Director Principal as Chief Guest; Prof. G.P.Thami, Medical
Superintendent; Prof. Dasari Harish, Professor Incharge Academics, Ms. Amanvir
Kaur, Nursing Superintendent and Dr. Himani, Vice Principal, College of Nursing
were present on the occasion.
The short program at 7″ floor E-Block, started with traditional lamp lighting and the
theme was opened by Prof. A.K.Attri. Director Principal – “Our Nurses Our Future,
Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economics”.
Prof. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent PGIMER was invited as Guest of
Honour, delivered an insightful lecture on Organ donation and congratulated the
Nursing fraternity. An excellent role play on organ donation was performed by B.Sc.
Nursing 5″ semester students.
Prof. A.K.Attri, Director Principal graced the function with his enlightening words and
event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Nursing Superintendent Ms. Amanvir
Kaur, followed by National Anthem.
