In order to sensitize regarding digital financial frauds, the Office of RBI Integrated Ombudsman, Chandigarh organized a financial awareness session
Chandigarh : In order to sensitize urban youth particularly regarding digital financial frauds, the Office of Reserve Bank Integrated Ombudsman, Chandigarh organized a financial awareness session for the students of Rayat-Bahra University. The event was primarily addressed by Rajeev Dwivedi, Reserve Bank Ombudsman Chandigarh and Amit Sharma, Zonal Operation Head, IndusInd Bank, where faculty members of the University also participated.
In the session, the participants were sensitized about do’s and don’ts of digital banking. The participants were requested not to share OTPs, account / card details, PIN, internet banking passwords, etc. The participants’ attention was specifically invited to ‘sancharsathi’ website (https://www.sancharsathi.gov.in) launched by Government of India, as a facility for citizens to report details of suspicious calls / phishing links. It was urged that only official apps, websites and call centre numbers of the service providers should be used and messages received on mobiles or emails like updation of KYC details, disconnection of electricity bill, blocking of sim cards, redemption of reward points in credit cards, investment offers, job offers through Telegram, etc. whether by downloading any link or otherwise should be handled with extreme care. Similarly, it was urged that any message seeking remittance of funds to overseas relatives should be acted upon only after due confirmation.
