IMPCC Meeting acknowledges role, contribution of State, Central departments focussing on “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav @75” activities

The Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) of the various units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and central and state government departments, was organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB) Chandigarh today.The meeting was held through videoconferencing and chaired by Additional Director General (Region), PIB Chandigarh, Smt. Devpreet Singh.
In her welcome address, Smt. Singh appreciated and acknowledged role and contribution of State and Central Government departments by focussing on the gamut of activities to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav@75” in the month of August. She said this has further strengthened the spirit of national integration, communal harmony while upholding Unity in Diversity across the country.She enjoined upon all the participants to continue their mandatory task of covering activities of organizations concerned related to ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to boost up awareness among common masses regarding Independence Struggle of India.
The meeting is convened to provide a platform to all the stakeholders including media units, implementing and executing agencies as well as departments to discuss issues and highlight their activities.Shri Sonam Chherring, Assistant Director, DCO, Chandigarh, Shri Amarpreet Singh, Transmission Executive, DDK Chandigarh, Shri Pankaj Bhayana from NIOS Regional Centre, Chandigarh, Shri Pankaj Sharma, News Editor, DDK Hisar, Smt. Varinder Kaur, Research Officer, DCO, Punjab and Smt. Monica Dutta, Assistant Director, AIR Jalandhar apprised during the meeting about the activities carried out by their departments during the current month.
Shri Shishu Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, PIB Jalandhar, Shri. Himanshu Pathak, Assistant Director, PIB Chandigarh, Smt. Sangeeta Joshi, Assistant Directorand Shri Baljit Singh Grewal, Assistant Director from Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Chandigarh were also present during the meeting.
Shri Hitesh Rawat, Assistant Director (M&C), PIB Chandigarh expressed gratitude to all the participants for participation in IMPCC meeting and highlighting their activities in the public interest. He urged the members to regularly forward press matter regarding centrally sponsored schemes and other relevant activities to PIB Chandigarh and follow its twitter handle.

“Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrated by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting

Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Chandigarh, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today launcheda two-day outreach programme in Chandigarh. The programme, celebrating “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the occasion of 75 years of India’s Independence, was organised at Burail in Chandigarh.
Sh. Bikram Singh Gill, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), UT Chandigarh& Punjab who was the Chief Guest inaugurated the programme.The Director encouraged the youth to come forward for the national integration and to safeguard the hard earned freedom of the country.
Ms. Sanjana Vatts, Distt. Youth Officer, Chandigarh was the key speaker. Dr. Prachi Malik NSS Incharge, Sec.32 Schools and Mr. Rohit Sharma, NYK volunteer also spoke on the role of NSS. Various activities were organised with the active participation of NSS & NYK Chandigarh. Culturalprogrammes, puppet and magic shows were also performed by the Artists of ROB, Chandigarh.
