IBRO APRC Travel and Short Stay Grant awarded to PU Research Scholar

Chandigarh: Shiyana, a UGC RFSMS Scholar pursuing PhD under the supervision of Prof.
Kanwaljit Chopra, Chairperson, UIPS and Head, Pharmacology Division, University
Institute Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab was awarded prestigious APRC Travel
and Short Stay Grant by International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) to unveil the
molecular mechanisms underlying sleep deprivation induced neuronal complications at
Mental Biology Laboratory, RIKEN Centre for Brain Science, Japan.
She also presented her research work at 41st meeting of Japanese Neuroscience
Society. She also attended RIKEN Summer school 2018 on “Untangling the Mysterious
Brain,” where she learned various advanced techniques like calcium imaging, patch
clamp recording of live neuron etc.
