IA&AD North Zone Carrom Tournament: Pr.AG Uttar Pradesh Triumphs

O/o the Principal Accountant General (Audit) Punjab hosts three-day competition in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, November 4, 2023 – The Indian Audit & Accounts Department (IA&AD) North Zone Carrom Tournament, organized by the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit) Punjab, concluded yesterday with exhilarating matches and an atmosphere of camaraderie.

In the Men’s Team event category, Pr.AG Uttar Pradesh emerged as the champions, displaying their prowess by defeating Pr.AG Delhi ‘B’. The competition was fierce, and the final moments were nothing short of thrilling.

Khursheed Hasan, representing Pr.AG Uttar Pradesh, displayed his exceptional carrom skills by emerging as the champion in the Men’s Individual category. He faced tough competition from Amandeep Batra of Pr.AG Haryana, and the match kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

In the Men’s Veteran Category, Shubh Raj of Pr.AG Delhi ‘A’ secured the championship by defeating Amrendra Shrivastava of Pr.AG Uttar Pradesh. Their experience and finesse in the game were evident in their performance.

The Women’s Individual category witnessed a fantastic showdown, with Geeta B. Sankar of Pr.AG Delhi ‘B’ rising as the champion. She outplayed her opponent, V Radhika of Pr.AG Delhi ‘B’, in a closely contested match.

The tournament’s success was celebrated with a prize distribution ceremony where Shailendra Vikram Singh, IA&AS, had the honor of awarding the winners and runners-up. He also extended his best wishes to the participants.

Shailendra Vikram Singh shared inspiring words with the victorious participants: “Your victories today are a testament to your dedication, hard work, and unwavering spirit. But remember, success is a journey, not a destination. Keep pushing your limits. Congratulations, and aim high!”

Smt. Surjit Kaur Baidwan, Welfare Officer, concluded the tournament on a gracious note with a vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and unity in such events.
