Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau Nabs Power Utility Officials for Bribery in Faridabad
Chandigarh, January 9: In a swift operation, the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Power Utility officials Sukhpal Singh (Junior Engineer) and Nawabuddin (Assistant Lineman) red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 today in Faridabad.
According to an ACB spokesperson, the team acted on a tip-off and meticulously planned the sting operation to capture the accused in the act. The complainant had alleged that JE Sukhpal, through ALM Nawabuddin, demanded Rs. 30,000 to manipulate the electricity meter reading and reduce the bill amount. The ACB team successfully trapped the duo accepting a partial payment of Rs. 20,000.
The spokesperson emphasized that the entire operation was conducted with utmost transparency and integrity. Cases have been registered against both Sukhpal and Nawabuddin at the ACB Police Station in Faridabad, in this case, a case has been registered and they have been arrested
