“HAFED Officials Arrested Red-Handed, Demanding Bribe for Processing Rs 36.5 Lakh Bill in Tarawadi, Karnal”
Chandigarh December 1-In a significant anti-corruption operation, the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau achieved dual successes in a single day. The Karnal ACB team apprehended HAFED General Manager Pradeep and Accountant Ajay in the act of accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 4,60,000 in Tarawadi, Karnal district. Simultaneously, a third accused, Dharamveer, was arrested for his involvement in bribery. Additionally, a case has been filed against Sub-Inspector Manoj of Hodal Police Station in the Faridabad Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station, accusing him of accepting a bribe of ₹10,000.
Giving this information here today, the official spokesperson stated that in Tarawadi, Karnal district, HAFED Manager Pradeep, Accountant Ajay, and Manager Dharamveer were found soliciting a bribe in exchange for processing the complainant’s bill. Acting on the received information, the ACB team devised a plan and successfully apprehended all three accused. The spokesperson disclosed that HAFED General Manager Pradeep was caught red-handed with Rs 3,50,000, and an additional amount of Rs 5,46,000 was separately recovered from his personal vehicle. Similarly, Accountant Ajay was arrested in the act with a bribe amounting to Rs 1,10,000, and an additional sum of Rs 2,46,000 was retrieved from the personal car of the third accused, HAFED Manager Dharmbir. Consequently, the total recovered from the three accused stands at Rs 12,52,000.
The entire operation was conducted with impartiality and complete transparency in the presence of witnesses. A case has been registered against the accused in the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Karnal, and they have been placed under arrest.
Similarly, in a separate incident, the Bureau team filed a case today at the ACB Faridabad police station against Sub-Inspector Manoj, stationed at Hodal police station in Palwal district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. Acting on received information, the Anti-Corruption Bureau team devised a plan to apprehend the accused. However, the accused managed to flee the scene before the team’s arrival. Sub-Inspector Manoj is accused of demanding a ₹10,000 bribe to expunge the names of the complainant’s sons from the FIR lodged at Hodal Police Station. The registration of this FIR is based on recorded conversations between the accused and the complainant.
