Derabassi, August 10, 2025: One of North India’s most eagerly awaited cricket events, the Rishi Brothers T-20 Open Cricket Tournament Season-3 powered by Z Sports, was inaugurated in memory of Late Smt. Shanti Devi under the leadership of renowned film actor-director Sachin Rishi and Rajeev Rishi. The event commenced at the Inderjit Cricket Academy & Kreek District Ground, Dera Bassi (Mohali), and will run until August 14, 2025.
According to organisers Sachin Rishi and Rajeev Rishi, the aim of the tournament is to inspire youth in the Tricity and surrounding regions towards sports, keep them away from drugs, and elevate the standard of club cricket. A total of 16 top club teams from across the country, including several Ranji Trophy and IPL-level players, are participating. The champion team will be awarded ₹2,00,000 in cash along with a trophy, while the runner-up will receive ₹50,000 in cash and a trophy.
The chief guest, Sanjay Tandon, President of the UT Cricket Association (UTCA), inaugurated the tournament, met the players on the opening day, and encouraged them. He then unveiled the tournament trophy. In his address, he said, “This initiative by Rishi Brothers will prove to be a milestone in strengthening local cricket. Such tournaments play a vital role in enhancing players’ confidence and experience.” He also extended his best wishes to Rishi Brothers for this endeavour.
The tournament’s title sponsor, Kanishk, stated that hosting this cricket tournament in memory of his grandmother, Late Smt. Shanti Devi, was a dream that has now been fulfilled through the dedicated efforts of Rishi Brothers. He conveyed his best wishes to both Rishi Brothers and all participating players.

Match Result:
In Sunday’s match, Overheat Athletes, Chandigarh registered an impressive 69-run victory over TCC Odisha. Winning the toss, TCC Odisha opted to bowl first. Batting first, Overheat Athletes, Chandigarh, set a target of 215 runs. In reply, TCC Odisha was bowled out for 146 runs. With this, Chandigarh’s team secured the first win of the tournament. For his outstanding performance, Chandigarh’s player Gary was declared Man of the Match.
