Chandigarh, August 10 – President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Kumari Selja today launched a scathing attack on the BJP-JJP government of the state over the deteriorating education level in the state. She said that the BJP-JJP alliance government is leaving no stone unturned to ruin the future of the youth as well as the children of the state. It seems that this government is not worried about the students. The government is only trying to please the central government. As soon as the central government talked about implementing the New Education Policy in the country by 2030, the State Government started campaigning that they would implement it in Haryana by 2025 whereas at the ground level, after the formation of the BJP government from the year 2014, the level of education in Haryana has been continuously declining.
In a statement issued here today, Kumari Selja said that due to the failures of this government, the number of already running primary schools is being reduced. There is a shortage of staff in the schools. In such a situation, the state government should meet the shortage of staff in the already running schools. The alliance government of the state should issue white paper regarding the current status of government schools and it should be informed that at present how many posts are vacant in schools, how many schools were closed and in how many schools students are forced to study at risk due to dilapidated building. With this, people of the state will get to know about the tall claims and actions of the BJP-JJP government, she added.
Referring to the Sustainable Development Goals report, Kumari Selja said that today the condition is that Haryana has lagged behind the neighboring states in the field of education. In order to promote education, instead of opening new schools in the state, hundreds of schools have been closed. Till date, the BJP government has not even started the recruitment process of primary teachers rather it snatched the jobs of PTI and drawing teachers. Instead of starting new recruitment, the recruitment of Sanskrit lecturer and English teacher was canceled. Haryana Board’s 10th and 12th class papers were leaked in this government. The government is playing with the future of children of the state, said Kumari Selja.
She said that until the shortage of staff in existing schools is not met, new schools will not open and new recruitments will not happen, till then it is meaningless to talk about improving the standard of education. Since the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in 2014, till date the recruitment of JBT has not been rolled out to teach primary classes. When the foundation itself is weak, there is no scope for improvement in the standard of education. The government should not darken the future of the students, it should first fix the education system in the state, she added.
