Chandigarh, 24th May,2024.Election Commission of India (ECI) has proudly launched the Saksham App, a dedicated platform designed to facilitate voting for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) in the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency.
This initiative highlights ECI’s unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive voting environment and ensuring that every eligible voter can exercise their democratic right with ease and dignity.
Through the Saksham App, PwD voters can request the assistance of a volunteer on Election Day to help them at polling stations, ensuring a smooth voting process.
Additionally, the app allows voters to book a wheelchair, which will be available at the polling booth to facilitate easy mobility for those with physical disabilities.
The app also offers a dedicated pick-and-drop service, providing transportation for PwD voters from their residence to the polling station and back, ensuring a hassle-free voting experience.
PwD voters in the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency are encouraged to register on the Saksham App at the earliest to avail themselves of these services.
To register the voters have to download the Saksham App from the official app stores, fill out the necessary details including personal information and specific assistance required, submit the request, and receive confirmation of the services booked.
All PwD voters in Chandigarh are urged to make use of the Saksham App for a seamless and supportive voting experience on June 1, 2024. By using the Saksham App, PwD voters can ensure they receive the necessary assistance on poll day to experience an accessible and convenient voting process
