DGP Haryana greets people on Diwali, urges ‘eco-friendly’ way
Chandigarh, Nov 3 – The Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana, Sh. P.K. Agrawal has extended warm greetings to the people of the State, family of martyrs and all ranks of Haryana Police on the eve of the festival of lights ‘Diwali’.
While wishing for the people’s bright fortune, the DGP said that Diwali is a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity that reminds us about our duty to share the joy and happiness.
He further urged people to celebrate an eco-friendly and Covid-free Diwali in a simple, dignified and noble way by adopting the use of ‘local’ handmade products instead of synthetics. “In view of the rising concern of environmental pollution and COVID alert, all must adhere to the guidelines issued by concerned authorities,” he added.
Highlighting the presence of Haryana Police personnel on festival duty, he counted on public safety as the top priority. The DGP also added that Police teams have been put across places to prevent any untoward incident so people can celebrate the festival of lights with full enthusiasm.
Encouraging his staff, the DGP said that their efforts for performing their duties more vigilantly during festive season of Diwali serves the motto of Haryana Police – “Seva Suraksha Sehyog”, and makes significant contribution in making a healthy, and peaceful law and order situation in the state. All the field units have already been instructed to remain alert and perform the duty with utmost dedication on the day of festival and ensure a safe and secure Diwali for all across the State, he added.
