DC holds meeting to review and finalize preparations for the smooth and fair conduct of NEET-UG to be held on May 4, 2025.

Chandigarh, April 11, 2025: A District-Level Coordination Committee meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, UT Chandigarh, to review and finalize preparations for the smooth and fair conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) scheduled to be held on May 4, 2025.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders including the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and the Director, National Testing Agency (NTA), along with senior officials from various departments involved in the examination process.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on multiple aspects of exam preparedness to ensure seamless coordination and strict compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) laid down by the NTA and the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

During the meeting, it was decided that all examination centres will be equipped with CCTV surveillance systems to ensure transparency and monitor activities in real-time. Live feed from all centres will be accessible from the central control room. The Chandigarh Police shall make comprehensive traffic management and law enforcement arrangements around examination centres to prevent any inconvenience to candidates and to maintain order. A centralized Control Room will be established at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, from where, real-time monitoring of activities at all 11 designated examination centres across the city will take place. Emphasis was laid on the strict implementation of SOPs, including frisking procedures, biometric attendance, and prevention of any unfair means. All officials have been instructed to ensure that these guidelines are followed in letter and spirit.

Approximately 4,500 candidates are expected to appear for NEET (UG) 2025 in Chandigarh. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a secure, fair, and stress-free environment for all examinees. The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in close coordination and remain alert during the exam period to address any situation swiftly and efficiently. He also appealed to parents and guardians to cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.
