Chandigarh : 13th Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) organized a walkathon program under the Fit India Movement at Dett/13 Bn Campus Sector-43, Chandigarh. Personnel of all ages of the battalion participated in this walkathon with Zeal and Zest. The objective of this event is to spread awareness about health and fitness among the general public by the personnel of the force. The walkathon, competition of different distances was organized among the personnel of both below and above 40 years of age. All the participants gave the message of fitness and discipline by completing the prescribed distance. On this occasion, Commandant Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, addressed, “A healthy and disciplined force is the true asset of the country”. Such programs make the soldiers strong both physically and mentally, resulting in an increase in their working capacity and excellence in the performance of duties. Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, herself being a fitness icon, took the lead in the walkathon along with all the Jawans and performed various exercises. At the end of the program, it has been announced that personnel who performed best in both age groups will be honored with rewards. The event is a strong example of CRPF’s commitment towards Fit India Movement, which gives top priority to the overall health and well-being of its personnel and also spreads the message of fitness awareness among the civil population in the area of deployment. Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, Commandant 13 Bn, other senior officers, subordinate officers and Jawans were present on the occasion that added grandeur of the event. The officers along with themselves encouraged all the personnel of the battalion to participate in the walkathon.
