Manish Tiwari limited to writing letters – Not a single promise fulfilled for Chandigarh
Ravi Rawat, Media In-Charge of Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh, said that recently, due to the efforts of BJP State President Jitendra Pal Malhotra and the Mayor, the central government provided ₹125 crore for the development of Chandigarh. This amount will be used for the city’s infrastructure and road construction.
He stated that ironically, Congress, which used to stage protests and dharnas claiming that the Municipal Corporation had no funds and roads were not being constructed, has now shifted its stance as soon as BJP, through the efforts of its State President and Mayor, secured ₹125 crore. The public wants to know why Congress is troubled by Chandigarh’s development.
Ravi Rawat said that Congress MP Manish Tiwari has been a Member of Parliament for over a year, yet he has not fulfilled a single promise made in his manifesto or during elections.
He reminded that Manish Tiwari made several false and alluring promises to mislead the public during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including—
Providing ₹1,00,000 financial assistance to every woman.
Supplying 20,000 liters of free water annually to every household.
Providing up to 300 units of free electricity for families earning less than ₹20,000 per month.
Waiver of farmers’ loans.
Government jobs for youth.
However, not a single promise has been fulfilled till date.
Ravi Rawat added that Chandigarh, a smart city, has a Member of Parliament who is limited to writing letters and making statements. The public elected a representative, not a clerk.
He further stated that Manish Tiwari’s political track record is extremely disappointing:
He was MP from Ludhiana from 2009 to 2014, where the people still await development.
He was MP from Anandpur Sahib from 2019 to 2024, where the public also feels neglected.
Now, he has been MP for Chandigarh for over a year, yet no concrete work has been done.
Ravi Rawat demanded that Congress and Manish Tiwari should release a White Paper for the public, showing what developmental work has been done by him since becoming an MP.
He added that even an ordinary BJP councilor delivers more development work than a Congress MP in five years. This clearly shows that BJP is the party that works sincerely for public welfare and development.
Finally, Ravi Rawat said that Congress and its leaders are limited to misleading the public and politics, but now the people have recognized the truth about Congress and are rejecting them one by one.
