Chandigarh to face Maharashtra in eliminator of 43rd Junior National Softball Championship
Chandigarh, UT boys will take on Maharashtra in the eliminator match of the 43rd Junior National Softball Championship being hosted by the Chandigarh Softball Association at Panjab University on Sunday. The winner of the eliminator will face Madhya Pradesh for the title.
The matches will begin at 6 am followed by the prize distribution ceremony scheduled for 11 am on Monday The ceremony will be hosted by Dharampal (IAS), President of the Chandigarh Softball Association while Rajeev Verma (IAS), Chief Secretary and Prerna Puri (IAS), Sports Secretary will grace the occasion as Chief Guests.
Earlier in the day, Chandigarh continued their winning streak with impressive victories by defeating Odisha 4-0 and Rajasthan 7-2 to secure a place in the eliminator. Maharashtra also delivered a strong performance and defeated Punjab 7-0 and Odisha 7-3 to book their spot.
In the girls’ category, Haryana will face Madhya Pradesh in the final. Haryana outclassed Punjab with a 12-5 win while Madhya Pradesh blanked Kerala 6-0 to advance to the title clash.
