CBI ARRESTS TWO PRIVATE PERSONS IN AN ALLEGED BRIBERY OF Rs.THREE LAKH
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two private persons (middlemen) in an alleged bribery of Rs.Three lakh.
A case was registered on 31.07.2023 on complaint against a constable of Chandigarh Police and two private persons on the allegations of demanding bribe. It was further alleged that the public servant demanded undue advantage through middlemen (private persons) in lieu of not adding the name of the Complainant in a case investigated by Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police.
CBI laid a trap and apprehended private person while accepting bribe of Rs. Three lakh on behalf of public servant. The other private person was also caught. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused including public servant, private person etc which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
Both the arrested accused are being produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Chandigarh.
