BIS honored Surender Verma for consumer awareness

Chandigarh, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has honored Surender Verma for his efforts in making consumers aware of their rights under the aegis of World Standards Day observed on 14th October. Verma who is the founder of Citizens Awareness Group (CAG), has been creating awareness among consumers by organizing activities on various aspects for the last two decades. He was honored by BIS’s Northern Region Office Deputy Director General Rajeev P and Chandigarh Branch Head Deepak Aggarwal in the presence of representatives from across the country during the regional program of the Bureau held at Hotel Shivalikview. Earlier, on October 12 last week, Surender Verma was also honored by Deputy Commissioner, Panipat Puneet Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Dahiya in a program held under the aegis of the World Standards Week organized by BIS Haryana at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology. Verma was retired as Public Relations Officer from Food Corporation of India in 2008, later he formed CAG. He is making efforts in this consumer awareness campaign with the help of various government agencies.
