Be aware of early symptoms of diabetes: experts
Bathinda: During an informative session on World Diabetes Day today, the senior endocrinologists and diabetes specialists from Max Super Specialty Hospital, Bathinda emphasized upon recognizing early symptoms of diabetes like excessive thirst, frequent urination, unexplained fatigue, and blurred vision.
Dr. Sushil Kotru, director & head of department of endocrinology at Max said, “World Diabetes Day is a reminder for all of us to take charge of our health. With the right knowledge and lifestyle modifications, we can significantly reduce the risks of diabetes. It’s not just about treatment; it’s about prevention and early intervention.”
He also highlighted the importance of regular checkups for early detection and effective management of diabetes.
In a mega diabetes, obesity & thyroid checkup camp the free screenings of blood sugar, HbA1c, TSH, lipid profile, foot checkup, fibro scan, bone densitometry, NT PRO BNP, dietician consultations, and obesity assessments were offered along with consultations for those at risk of diabetes.
Through World Diabetes Day, we aimed to reduce the growing burden of diabetes and its complications, which could lead to heart disease, kidney failure, and blindness, asserted Dr Kotru.
