A study tour of GMSH-16 for twenty eight Senior Nursing Practitioners from seven countries was planned by Department of Community Medicine and School of Public health PGIMER under International Public Health Management Development Program on 11th January 2024. It was part of the ten days specialised Nursing leadership and management programme for Global collaboration in health care education. The participants were from Maldives, Tanzania, Niger, Tajikistan, Seychelles , Argentina and Botswana.

GMSH-16 was chosen for this study tour as it is the oldest hospital in the city, recognized for its prompt and efficient services. The objective was the demonstration of best practices in nursing care – implementation of kayakalp, LaQshya and other initiatives intending for these practices to be replicated by the participants upon their return to the respective countries.
The visiting Nursing Practitioners were divided into four groups and through a well designed and co-ordinated tour plan, they were taken to various work stations of the Govt. Multi Speciality Hospital such as Emergency, ICU, OT, Pvt Wards, Labour Room, Maternity OT and OPDs where designated staff briefed them on the above topics .

Following this, there was a discussion and feedback session which was chaired by Director Health & Family Welfare-cum-Mission Director(NHM). Medical Superintendent, Dy. Medical Superintendent, Nodal Officer-NHM and District Family Welfare Officer were also present during the session. It was a highly successful event with all the visiting participants highly appreciative of the prevalent practices and protocols being followed in this hospital to provide quality health care services not only to the residents of the city but also to the adjoining States.
