Empowering Shivalik Extension in Kharar: Residents and Chairman Ahluwalia Forge a Path to Progress
A Collaborative Journey Towards a Cleaner Shivalik Extension Area

Kharar, November 15: In a vibrant display of community engagement, residents of Shivalik Extension, near gate number 9, recently joined hands with Chairman Sunny Ahluwalia of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board to address concerns about persistent waterlogging near Mansa Devi Temple. Spearheading this collaborative effort, Avneet Singh, a resident of Shivalik Extension, played a pivotal role in bringing the community together. One resident poignantly expressed, “Living amidst the waterlogging has been a daily struggle. The unbearable smell and dirty water make simple tasks like crossing the road a daunting challenge. We approached Chairman Sunny Ahluwalia with our concerns, hoping for relief.”

Responding swiftly and with a commitment to tangible solutions, Chairman Ahluwalia took immediate action by deputing an officer to visit the area. This proactive step aims to assess the situation firsthand and initiate the necessary actions promptly. The chairman also engaged in discussions with the local municipal councillor, emphasizing the need for a coordinated approach to effectively resolve the issues at hand.

Navigating the Waves of Water Scarcity

Amidst the challenges posed by waterlogging, another pressing issue came to light during the discussions — the severe water scarcity faced by residents. Shockingly, there has been no municipal water supply for the past week, leaving the community in a precarious situation. The residents informed that they had been using water tankers for their daily needs. Chairman Ahluwalia acknowledged this critical concern, stating, “I understand the difficulties the residents are facing, and I want to assure them that we are committed to resolving these issues promptly. Our teams will work diligently to investigate the causes and implement effective solutions to ensure a cleaner and safer living environment for everyone.”

Infrastructure Overhaul for a Resilient Shivalik Extension

Chairman Ahluwalia further discussed the long-term vision for Shivalik Extension, highlighting plans for an infrastructure overhaul. The chairman expressed a commitment to upgrading the sewage system and ensuring sustainable water supply solutions with the aim to transform Shivalik Extension into a model community with robust infrastructure, meeting the evolving needs of its residents.

As the residents and Chairman Ahluwalia embark on this collaborative journey, the shared goal is to not just resolve immediate issues but to pave the way for a resilient and thriving Shivalik Extension. This marks the beginning of a transformative chapter, where community engagement and proactive leadership converge for the betterment of all.
