New Indian Consumer Initiative (NICI) is planning to host a capacity-building workshop for consumers on data governance, focusing on the latest report by the Committee of Experts on Non-Personal Data Governance Framework, on Friday, 5 February 2021 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM
We understand that this email is coming to you at a short notice but we will highly appreciate your participation and will shortly email a detailed agenda with a list of speakers.
The Report by the Committee of Experts on Non-Personal Data Governance Framework was constituted by The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) on 13.09.2019 under the chairmanship of Shri Kris Gopalakrishnan. The objective of the report was to study various issues relating to Non-Personal Data (NPD) and to make specific suggestions for consideration of the Central Government on the regulation of NPD. The Committee’s initial recommendations were released in a report on 12.07.2020 and feedback on the same was invited. Based on the feedback received, the Committee submitted a revised version of the report on 16.12.2020. However, the revised version of the report contains issues regarding consumer protection.
For more on specific consumer protection issues, please see the attached note. We look forward to your confirmation at the earliest in order to smoothly conduct the workshop and will appreciate it if you can drop a line of confirmation by COB 2nd February 202
