Ujjivan Bank forays in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, : Ujjivan Small Finance today opened its branch in Sector 34 which was inaugurated by Mayor Devesh Moudgil in the presence of Vijay Balakrishnan, CMO, Ujjivan Bank. Bank which began its operations in February 2017 is spread across 24 States and UTs with around 280 branches. Ujjivan has been operating in Chandigarh since 2010 catering to over 8600 customers. The existing microfinance customers would soon be on-boarded as bank customers.

While inaugurating the branch Balakrishnan said, We are also leveraging the immense business potential & trading strengths of this region as Ujjivan has 9 branches in Punjab and planning for 7 more whereas  there will be ten more additional branch with existing 15  branches in Haryana.

Ujjivan will bring simple, easy to understand and competitive banking products  offering some of the highest interest rates of  interest like 8% on Fixed Deposits (for 1-2 years on FD less than 1 crore) and an additional 0.5% interest rate for Senior Citizens. ‘’Additionally, it offers an interest rate of 8.25 % on Fixed Deposits for 735 days and 8.75 % for Senior Citizens on the same tenor making this one of the best and most competitive offerings compared to most institutions,’’ added Mr. Balakrishnan.

We are also leveraging the immense business potential & trading strengths of Chandigarh markets by offering innovative and attractive products in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) segments. This is a big focus area for the bank and the small businesses in Chandigarh and surrounds, will immensely benefit from the business loan offerings of Ujjivan. The bank has an equally strong focus on the Affordable Housing Segment and will be launching attractive products in the Home Construction, Home Improvement and Home Purchase spaces, said Mr. Balakrishnan.
