Colorful Cultural Program Organized by BJP Uttarakhand Cell, Chandigarh on Uttarakhand Foundation Day

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand’s statehood, a special cultural program was organized under the leadership of Bhupendra Sharma, President of the BJP Uttarakhand Cell, Chandigarh. The event took place at the BJP office, Kamalam, Sector 33, Chandigarh.
The primary objective of the program was to celebrate Uttarakhand’s glorious culture, folk traditions, and the historic journey of state formation while connecting the younger generation with their cultural roots.
The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished guests, followed by mesmerizing performances of folk songs and dances depicting the rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand.
Local artists presented famous folk songs such as “Pahaada Ki Naari,” “Narangi Ki Dhani,” “Daina Hoya Kholi Ka Ganesha He,” and “Baara Eni Bagwal Madho Singha.” Enthusiastic participation by women from Uttarakhand added special charm to the performances.
On this occasion, Bhupendra Sharma honored Rajya Sabha Member Satnam Singh Sandhu, BJP Chandigarh President Jitendra Malhotra, Himachal Pradesh Co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, Former State President Arun Sood, Shakti Devshali, Ramveer Bhatti, Heera Negi, Ravi Rawat, and Sunita Bhatt among other dignitaries.
Budhi Chand, Anand Prasad Sharma, Chandi Prasad Mamgai, Prakash Chand Baluni, Barf Singh Panwar, Veerpal Singh Negi, Prashant Sharma, Harish Pokhriyal, Laxmi Prasad Nautiyal, Vikram Bisht, and Jwala Bhandari were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Bhupendra Sharma said that the aim of the event was to showcase Uttarakhand’s traditions and culture to the younger generation and to keep the migrant Uttarakhand community connected with their roots. “Our endeavor is to ensure that Uttarakhand’s glorious legacy is carried forward to future generations,” he added.
He further stated that the journey of Uttarakhand’s statehood was marked by great struggles and sacrifices. Thousands of people laid down their lives during the movement. “Today is a day to remember those brave souls and to renew our commitment to building the Uttarakhand of their dreams,” he said.
Other distinguished guests also shared their thoughts and extended best wishes for the state’s progress and prosperity.
