Rotary Gifts 30 computers to City Government Schools

Chandigarh, 25th October 2024: UT Director Education Shri H.P.S. Brar, and Rotary District Governor Rajpal Singh handed over 30 computers to six government schools of the city, here today at a function organized at Rotary House.

Rotary is one of the very few NGOs that we trust and depend upon for delivering what they promise, said Mr Brar speaking on the occasion.  He said that Rotary Club of Chandigarh has executed WiNS programme in over 30 schools successfully and even a major project of Health Education Centre shall be opened early next year. 

Rotary District 3080 Governor Rajpal Singh informed that Rotary couple Rtn. PJ Singh and Rtn Rajinder Kaur of Rotary Club of Chandigarh, had contributed USD 20,000 to the Rotary Foundation under the CSR initiative of their company IPF Vikram India Limited to benefit the students of government schools by gifting computers to their school labs.

The principals of each of the schools along with their computer teacher and five students received the computers for their respective schools, namely Govt. Middle School, Sector-26 (Bapu Dham),  Govt. Model Middle School, Sector-23-D, Govt. Middle School, Sector -56 (Palsora Colony), Govt. Middle School, Sector-46-D, Govt Model Middle School, Sector-45-A, and Govt. Middle School, Village – Burail, Chandigarh.

Four more computers were gifted to two schools of Saharanpur, viz. Baba Trilok Maharaj Saraswati Sishu Mandir  Nanka , Chutmalour, District  Saharanpur, and JJ Inter College, Sultan Pur Chilkana.

It is worth mentioning that 30 computers costing Rs 13,55,250 have been given to six government schools in Chandigarh.

Those present on the occasion included Rtn. Pres. Jatinder Kapoor, Secy Prem Mahendru, Rtn PJ Singh, Rtn Rajinder Kaur, PP Anil Chadda, PP Jaspal Sidhu, PP AP Singh, Rtn Teena Virk, Rtn Krishan Kapur, Rtn Arun Agarwal, amongst others.
