BSF WESTERN COMMAND CHANDIGARH CELEBRATED 59TH BSF RAISING DAY

On 01st December 2023, Border Security Force Western Command, Chandigarh, celebrated 59th Raising Day with great pomp and show at BSF Campus Lakhnaur, Mohali. Before start of the function, Sh. Satish Chandra Budakoti, Inspector General, BSF Western Command paid rich tribute to BSF martyrs who laid down their lives for security of the nation. As per traditions of the Force, the event followed by a cultural programme organized for the entertainment of the troops during the “Bara Khana” which was represented by all ranks including retired BSF personnel.

Raised on 01 December 1965 as nation’s First Line of Defence with 25 battalions, BSF has now evolved into the world’s largest border guarding force with 193 battalions and with a strength of more than 2.65 lakh brave men and women deployed in all kinds of terrain. While addressing the troops, Inspector General, Western Command reiterated the commitment of the Force to live up to the motto of “Jeevan Paryant Kartavya”. He exhorted troops present in the function to remain vigilant and put up their best to keep the flag of the force always flying high.

Organizing its main function outside the national capital for the third time at BSF Training Centre and School, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, the parade contingents drawn from different frontiers of Border Security Force marched past the saluting base, showcasing the Seema Praharis’ valour, saga and commitment to the nation.
