Seven-days workshop on ‘Importance of Research in Clinical Setting: Evidence-Based Nursing Practice concluded at NINE, PGIMER
The methods of Evidence-Based Nursing Practice
National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), PGIMER, Chandigarh organized a seven-days workshop on ‘Importance of Research in Clinical Setting: Evidence-Based Nursing Practice’, funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from 21st August, 2023 -27th August 2023. The workshop was inaugurated and coordinated by Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Professor- cum-Principal. The experts in evidence-based practice from various departments of PGIMER, Dr Sourab Datta and Dr Joseph Mathew (Dept. of Pediatrics), Dr Ramesh Pal (Dept of Endocrinology), Dr Bijaya Kumar Padhi and Dr. Shankar Prinja (School of Public Health) were the guest speakers for the workshop. Dr. Sushma Saini, Dr. Manju Dhandapani, Dr. Kavita and Dr. Nitasha Sharma, and Dr. Ashok Kumar (NINE) were the resource persons, who facilitated the workshop. A total of 29 participants from Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab attended the workshop. The main focus of the workshop was on the implications of systematic review and meta-analysis in evidence-based nursing practice. Participants actively participated in various hands-on sessions on how to register and conduct systematic reviews and metanalysis and has initiated registration of their proposal in PROSPERO. They will continue to work on their reviews under the guidance of resource persons. The delegates highly appreciated the group activity on various aspects of evidence-based nursing and metanalysis. The post workshop evaluation showed a significant improvement in their knowledge. The workshop was concluded with a valedictory function at 2.00 pm on 27th August 2023. Certificates were distributed by Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal NINE.
