Pracheen Kala Kendra organized a press conference at press club sector-27, Chandigarh here today to share the information about its upcoming musical event on the ongoing Vrsha ritu . Malhar utsav is being organized to celebrate rainy season with melodic notes of music studded with Thumri, chaiti, kajri , jhoola etc. and when we are talking about Thumri , the one name will come across the mind, yes , we are talking about Legendary vocalist & Thumri queen Girija Devi ji who fondly called Appaji in Music world. This Malhar Utsav is a loving tribute to Appaji for her unparallel contribution in the field of Music. Foremost disciples of Girija Devi ji are performing in this Utsav like Sunanda Sharma, Rupan Sarkar Samanta, Swarnimma Gusain and Koyel Dasgupta. The press conference was preceded by Kendra’s Registrar Dr. Shobha Koser , Secretary Sh. Sajal Koser, Dr. Samira Koser , Deputy Registrar and eminent Art Critic Sh. S.D. Sharma
Utsav will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit ji , Honble Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh. Utsav will be held on 4th & 5th August at Tagore Theatre at 6:30 pm daily
