PGIMER’s Deptt. of Pediatric Surgery wins 6 Best Paper Awards in 

National Virtual Conference E- IAPSCON

The Department of Pediatric Surgery participated enthusiastically in the recently held National virtual conference E- IAPSCON 21 held from October18-24, 2021 and performed well. Under the able guidance of Prof. Ram Samujh, Head, Deptt. of Pediatric Surgery, PGIMER  the professors and residents presented 24 papers and won 6 best paper awards in their respective categories.

In Pre- Conference CME of the Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Prof. Ram Samujh was honored with the Mridula Rohatgi Oration Award by Prof. S.S. Deshmukh, ex- Vice Chancellor of Bombay University at Mumbai on October 17, 2021.

Dr Nitin James Peters, Associate Professor won the best paper in the oncology session for the paper on “Dancing eye dancing feet!! Lessons learnt from 18 consecutive patients of OMAS”.

Dr Amit Pandey, senior resident won the best paper award in the Laparoscopic surgery session under the guidance of Prof Ravi Prakash Kanojia. Dr Manasa Reddy, senior resident was awarded best paper for presenting a rare neonatal oncology case under the guidance of Prof J K Mahajan.

Dr Saswati Behera delivered an award-winning presentation for the paper on Malignant Rhabdoid Tumors in Children under the guidance of Prof Ram Samujh.

Dr Sravanthi Vutukuru guided by Dr Shailesh Solanki and Dr Khyati Kiran guided by Dr Nitin J Peters, won best paper awards for their reports on rare cases managed expertly in our department.

Prof. Ravi P. Kanojia has successfully completed 2 years tenure as General Secretary of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
