Generous contribution by Vardhman for the treatment of poor patients at PGIMER

Chandigarh, 31 March 2021: With the intent to making quality healthcare services accessible to the underprivileged section of the society, Vardhman Group has made a financial contribution of INR 30 lac to the Poor Patient Fund of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The Group has been annually providing this amount to the hospital for several years in a row.
The amount is utilized for the treatment of patients having a BPL card in hospital’s emergency care unit as also the OPD. People with serious health concerns including cancer, heart & kidney diseases across North India reach PGIMER for quality treatment and healthcare support.
The cheque was handed over to the hospital management in the august presence of Prof. Jagat Ram (Director), Shri Kumar Gaurav Dhawan (IRS DY Director, Administration), Shri Kumar Abhay (IAAS Financial Advisor) and Prof. Ashok Kumar (In-charge, Poor Patient Cell). From Vardhman, Mr IMJS Sidhu (President & Director In-charge, Baddi) and Mr Anurag Puri (Sr VP) remained present.
The management of PGIMER acknowledged the humane efforts of Vardhman saying that the organization has been doing appreciable work for social welfare.
Mr IMJS Sidhu emphasised the vision of top management of Vardhman Group, quoting Ms Suchita Oswal Jain, Vice-Chairman & JMD that “Quality healthcare services are primary to development of society. We try to make healthcare accessible to all by contributing to distinguished health centres like PGIMER where people from far and near come for treatment.”
Vardhman Group has periodically provided several hospitals with advanced medical equipment and funds for research on critical illnesses too. With a strong belief that Education and Healthcare are a necessity, the organization is abundantly supporting the same through its CSR initiatives. The sum provided to PGIMER at present will be utilized for the treatment of patients belonging to economically weak background who cannot afford the treatment.
