Chandigarh.27 February,2021:Education Department, Chandigarh Administration today issued orders for promotion of 86
teachers to the post of Lecturers (in 18 subjects) in the pay scale of Rs. 10300-34800+5400 Grade Pay.
These promoted Lecturers will be posted in different Govt. Sr. Secondary Schools of Chandigarh and
after these promotions, all the posts of Lecturer Cadre under promotion quota will be filled up.
These
promotion orders were pending for a long time due to various issues such as seniority, subject
combination, reservation and some legal issue also. Earlier, promotion orders for such large number of
Lecturers were issued in the year 2013. Now, with the filling up of vacant post of Lecturers shortage of
staff at Sr. Secondary level will be minimized.
The process to fill up the vacant posts of Lecturers under
direct recruitment has already been initiated by the department.
