The Directorate of Technical Education Department has got the SILVER SKOCH AWARD for implementing GIANI (Govt. ICT Training-A new Initiative) project for all the employees of Chandigarh Administration.

Chandigarh.20 February,2021:The Directorate of Technical Education Department has got the SILVER SKOCH AWARD for implementing GIANI (Govt. ICT Training-A new Initiative) project for all the employees of Chandigarh Administration.
This is bestowed after exhaustive research and expert evaluations. This project is being headed by Sh S.S. Gill,IAS, Secretary Technical Education, Director Technical Education, PCS Sh Jagjit Singh and ICT Coordinator, Dr. Sunita Mehta. The award was received by PCS Sh.Jagjit Singh and Dr. Sunita Mehta at the Virtual 71th SKOCH Summit 2021 and the Jury Members of SKOCH Group has well appreciated this project and have asked to get the same implemented in its neighbouring states because of its extraordinary features like low cost, resource sharing, beneficial during COVID 19 etc.
This project was initiated on 10th Sept 2018 and will be completing in the year 2023. Till today, 6544 employees have been registered and 4478 has successfully completed ICT Training. The quality based ICT Training has been provided at all the technical institutes under the purview of DTE department, Chandigarh Administration by the ICT trained faculty of technical institutions. The objective of this project is to keep technology up to date at the workplace, effective utilization of e-Governance Softwares, to maintain computational accuracy, improving employee productivity, efficient organization management. This is Low budget project costing Rs. 550 per employee tentatively utilizing the latest infrastructure of Technical Institutions thus promoting resource sharing. This department believes in changing the country with Technology.
