Chandigarh, Dec 7 – With the arrest of two accused, Haryana Police has busted a gang of motorcycle thieves active in Sirsa and adjoining districts. Police has also recovered five stolen motorcycles from their possession.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that a team of Crime Investigation Agency, during patrolling near Kanganpur road area, had got credible information about the presence of two suspects who were there to sale a stolen bike. Based on the information, police team established a naka and arrested the duo alongwith stolen motorcycle.
Five incidents of motorcycle theft were unearthed during preliminary interrogation. Arrested accused were identified as Navdeep Singh alias Jony and Sukhdeep Singh alias Jimi. After registration of a case, further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
In a separate incident, the police has also arrested a person on the charges of possessing 20 kg poppy husk from near village Jadwla Bishnoiyan in Sirsa. Arrested accused was identified as Vijay Pal.
A case under the provisions of NDPS Act was registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
