Chandigarh, Sept 11 – Haryana Police in separate cases have arrested five persons on the charges of drug-peddling in Fatehabad district and recovered 20 kg 500 gram of ganja from their possession.
Giving this information here on Friday, a Haryana Police spokesperson said that in the first incident, CIA team arrested Raju, a resident of district Hoshiyarpur in Punjab and Karamjit of Hisar district, from near Hansawala village area after it recovered 19 kg 500 gram of ganja from their possession.
In another crackdown, a Police team during patrolling has arrested Ranjit Singh, Mandeep and Shravan alias Sonu with 1 kg ganja from near Punjab National Bank, Bhuna.
In a separate incident, police have arrested a drug supplier from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan in connection with recovery of 4 kg 800 gram poppy husk a few days back.
Cases under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were registered against them. Further investigation is underway.
