On 03.12.23, 85 kabari sites / structures demolished in Maloya,(Gaushala Road) in the presence of Estate office team and police personnel and MC staff. Demolition drive ended peacefully and all illegal structures were razed down. Demolition orders were passed by the Court of SDM (South) exercising the powers of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh. With this, the Chandigarh administration has reiterated its commitment to not allow any illegal structures to be raised and unlawful business be run in them. On the question of some illegal structures re-raised some time after the demolition in periphery areas, it has been decided that legal action will also be taken against such land owners who rent away their lands for unlawful trades in near future.
