7 days workshop on “Empowering Nurse Educators with Teaching – Learning Process “organized by National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMER, Chandigarh

National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMER, Chandigarh organized a seven-days workshop on “Empowering Nurse Educators with Teaching Learning Process” funded by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare from 29.11.23 to 5.12.23. This workshop has been awarded with 30 CNE hours/6 credit hours by the Indian Nursing Council. The workshop was attended by thirty nursing personnel from various government & private institutions in North India.

Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal, NINE, PGIMER, welcomed the delegates and expressed her gratitude to them for joining the academic feast. Prof S. S. Pattnaik, Professor & Head, Department Media Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research, Chandigarh graced the event as chief guest at the inaugural function on 29th Nov, 2023. He highlighted the importance of empowering educators through Artificial Intelligence (AI) based educational tools. He equally highlighted the need for openness to technology and the need to acknowledge the transformative power of technology in today’s world. The workshop paved the way for potential collaborations between nursing science and technology in coming times.

Sh. Umed Mathur, Registrar, PGIMER appreciated the host department for having chosen such an apt topic and encouraged the participants for more experiential learning. These seven days long event provided a comprehensive short course on all essential elements of teaching ranging from curriculum development to evaluation. A one-day visit to, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training, Chandigarh added more to the learning of delegates where they were equipped with AI based tools which can reform the teaching process in nursing. The learned faculty from National Institute of Nursing Education, Ms. Neena Vir Singh, Dr. Manju Dandapani, Dr. Kavita, Ms. Meenakshi Agnihotri & Dr. Nitasha Sharma, faculty from NITTTR and other nursing experts equipped the participants with various aspects of educational technology. The students had real time learning wherein they were engaged in development of various AI Aids, assessment tools and course plans. The participants highly appreciated the content of the workshop and perceived the event of great utility in classroom teaching. The workshop concluded on 5.12.23.
