The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator & Sh. Sanjay Kumar Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, UT & Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Principal (Officiating), GMCH & Director Health Services, GMSH-16 attended through Video Conferencing.
WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1. Dr. GD Puri of PGIMER stated that they have 66 covid patients in Nehru Hospital Extension, out of which 22 belong to Chandigarh, 22 belong to Punjab, 09 to Haryana, 09 to Himachal Pradesh and remaining to other states. He also mentioned that the trial for covid vaccination is being conducted successfully on 149 volunteers.
Director Principal (Officiating), GMCH 32, Dr. Jasbinder Kaur stated that they have conducted covid test for 2,674 cases, out of which 85 persons were found positive. The positivity rate was of 3.2%.
Ms. Amandeep Kang, DHS, GMSH-16 stated that they have tested 8,151 covid samples, out of which 546 were found positive. She also stated that 18,200 patients have been treated in OPDs and 2,668 persons have been screened through mobile medical teams. She also mentioned that 14,260 houses have been checked under Malaria Detection Programme. There have been 262 dengue cases this year and only 01 new case has been found recently.
2. Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 1,673 active cases, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula stated that they have 279 active cases and Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have 364 active cases.
3. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh expressed concern about the new strain of covid virus, which has been detected in United Kingdom (UK). He directed Principal Secretary Health and Director General of Police to keep a track of 08 travellers from UK, who have been found positive at Amritsar. He suggested that PGIMER may also examine their cases.
4. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT directed Director Health Services to create a Separate Isolation Ward for foreign returning persons, who are found positive.
5. Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that 05 new containment zones have been decided and will be notified. He also mentioned that 33,851 challans have been issued against the persons violating covid protocol.
6. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT directed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation to create awareness programme about the new garbage segregation arrangements, being done by the Municipal Corporation through new vehicles. He stated that such practice has been successfully implemented in other smart cities and Chandigarh should not lag behind.
7. It was decided to continue to keep Apni Mandis closed, particularly in view of the risk of new strain of corona virus coming to the city. A final decision regarding opening of Apni Mandis will be taken in the 1st week of January, 2021.
8. As regards the proposal to impose night curfew in city, it was decided to wait and watch the situation a few more days before taking a final call on the matter.
