The monthly meeting of Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) of the various units of the Ministry of Information& Broadcasting and central and state government departments in Himachal Pradesh, held today focussed on the resolve to redouble efforts to sensitize masses to inoculate for safety through already launched COVID 19 vaccination drive across the country. The meeting emphasised the need to observe COVID Appropriate Behaviour to fight the fatal surge in COVID 19 cases in Himachal Pradesh and several other States.

Organised by PIB Shimla, the meeting of current year also stressed the need to take forward State & Central welfare programmes, schemes & initiatives in various sectors, with renewed synergy, cohesion & consistency in the public interest.

The meeting held through videoconferencing at Press Information Bureau, Chandigarh, was briefly directed by Additional Director General (Region), PIB Chandigarh, SmtDevpreet Singh that all the participating departments need to complement efforts and initiatives in concerted manner to achieve desired results under the guidelines of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

All media units were asked to create informative software in coordination with the government departments and agencies to integrate the gains achieved on ground to strengthen ongoing COVID 19 Vaccination Drive and already launched Jan Andolan on COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

About One & Half dozen senior representatives from various central and state government departments besides media units from Himachal Pradesh participated in the meeting.

The meeting is convened to provide a platform to all the stakeholders including media units, implementing and executing agencies as well as departments to discuss issues and highlight their activities.

The representatives from various media units and government departments briefed the meeting about the special activities of their respective departments during March.

Shri Ajay Raghav, General Manager Himachal Pradesh SC/ST Development Corporation, ShriDharmendra Singh, Deputy Director (Information), DIPR Shimla, Shri Anil Verma, Programme Executive (Coordination), AIR Shimla, Sh. Anil Dutt Sharma, Field Exhibition Officer, Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) Shimla, Dr JitenderChauhan, Deputy Director, Directorate of Health Services, Himachal Pradesh, Dr Anjali Chauhan, State ProgrammeOfficer, National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB)& RashtriyaKishorSwasthyaKaryakram (RKSK) under National Health Mission (NHM), Dr Avinash Sharma, Joint Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, apprised the meeting about the activities carried out by the departments.

Sh Rajeev Chandra, Deputy Director, Department of Horticulture, Ms Chanchal Thakur, Assistant Director, Department of Fisheries, ShriSuchetAttri, PRO, Dr Y S Parmar University, Himachal Pradesh, ShriJoginder Kumar Yadav, Regional Director, IGNOU Shimla, Shri Bali Ram, Assistant Postmaster General (APMG), Department of Posts, Shri Dinesh Kumar, Joint Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Shimla, ShriLalitKapoor, additional State Informatics Officer, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Shimla and Anish Sharma, DFO (Publicity), Department of Forests also participated in the meeting.

Shri Tariq A. Rather, Deputy Director (M&C), PIB Shimla briefed the meeting about the daily publicity activities undertaken during the current month at PIB Shimla. He enjoined upon all participants to ensure participation in IMPCC meetings to fulfil official obligations under M/o I&B’s standing guidelines. He also presented vote of thanks to the participating members.

ShriHimanshuPathak, Assistant Director (M&C), PIB Shimla talked about social media activities of PIB Shimla. He also conducted the proceedings in a befitting manner from PIB Chandigarh.
