250 donated blood at PGI Blood Donation camp
The National Voluntary Blood Donation Day campaign was celebrated on 1st October, 2024 with a great enthusiasm. In line with the objectives and slogan for the campaign was “Celebrating 20 years of giving: Thank you, blood donors !.” The department of Transfusion Medicine conducted 3 blood donations camps on the followings places –
1. State Bank of India, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
2. Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Sector 46, Chandigarh.
3. Chandigarh University Gharuan.
An approx. 250 blood units were collected from these camps. The Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh expresses its sincere gratitude to all its volunteer donors who have been supporting the department by donating blood on regular intervals as a noble gesture in the service of mankind. It is due to their generous efforts that the department collects around 60-70,000 units in a year and supplies more than 2 lacs blood components to the critically sick patients within and outside the institute.
